The layoffs primarily affected customer support, recruiting, and sales. The company blamed the layoff on the decline in business travel, but got flack for notifying employees about the news via a group Zoom call.

Quora, the question & answer website, announced a partial layoff to reduce costs to a more sustainable level. It’s unknown how many of the company’s ~200 employees were affected, but their layoff list (see link below šŸ‘‡) includes about a dozen people — mostly engineers in the Bay Area.
